Maximize Your Muscle Growth With Good Form

I’m sure youve heard lots of people saying that form is important when lifting weights and there is a very good reason for this….It’s because it is extremely important and if you want to build muscle properly then you need to make sure that your form is always good.

Some people are obsessed with numbers and just want to brag to all their friends about how much they can bench press but unless your doing the exercise properly your not going to feel the full muscle building effects. So using a lighter weight can actually be more beneficial to your muscle building if you are lifting properly.

Every time you do an exercise you should be focusing on the muscle(s) that you are working. This can sometimes be difficult for people especially when it comes to the lats but with a little practice it becomes much easier.

Even something as simple as a dumbbell curl is often done with bad form. I regularly see guys in the gym with terrible form doing curls… they swing the weights, lean backwards and all sorts of various things just to be able to get some more reps out but this is not only a waste of time and energy but you could end up injuring yourself and then you could be out of action for a while and your muscle building will have to grind to a halt.

If you are one of these people who thinks bigger numbers is the answer to bigger muscles and forget about your form then you need to change your ways. Every exercise you do should be slow and controlled and you should be thinking about the muscle you are working throughout the exercises.

Now don’t get me wrong, you need to lift heavy weights if you want to gain muscle mass but you should NOT go for heavier weights at the expense of form! You want to be using the biggest weight possible but sill be able to control the movement properly and have a full range of motion.

Just changing this small thing in your daily workouts could have a dramatic effect on your muscle building results not to mention keeping your body from any unnecessary injuries.

How To Gain Muscle Fast

It is not a surprise that most people get motivated to have their muscles build up quickly as result of the many diseases which are said to be associated with obesity. This is not the only reason however others argue that they have a desire to have a firm and a perfect looking body in order to win attention from the opposite sex. Whatever the reason may be, it is very important to have a fit body and this can only be achieved by building your muscles. If you don’t know how to accomplish this, the good news is that you are on the right track. Below are tips on how to gain muscle fast.

The safest and perhaps the best way to achieve a muscular body is by exercise. The best place to start would be the gym. Here you can train on various techniques to build muscle with the help of a fitness professional.

Taking muscle supplements has also been proved to be very effective in building muscles quickly. It is however recommended you be cautious when taking these supplements. They need to be used mostly by people taking regular visits to the gym. Most of these supplements usually contain proteins with amino acids that help in building blocks of muscles.

If you want to know how to build muscles, then you have to be conversant with diet. This is very important and should not be underestimated. It involves knowing the correct amount of calories to consume each day. Skinny people should consume many calories to build their muscles while obese ones should consume less in order to get rid of the fats.

Decreasing stress is also very important. You never know, maybe it is the reason you are not able to gain muscle quickly. It has been proved from research that stress causes the body to release a product known as cortisol which has the effect of eating up the muscle and the tissues.

You might be asking yourself a question like how long does it take to build muscle? Well, depending on your hard work, you can achieve it in less than two months. Perseverance and patience is also some attributes you should possess throughout. You have to follow your daily schedule until you reach the desired results.

Knowing how to gain muscles fast can be very rewarding to you. The tips are not that hard nor are they super easy to implement. You must dedicate yourself and in a matter of months you will have your body not only strong but also in perfect shape.

Building Muscle With No Equipment

Just because you don’t have a gym membership or any fancy new gym set ups at home doesn’t mean you can’t have a great workout that is going to build muscle mass. Even if you don’t even have a set of dumb bells there are some fantastic body weight exercises that you can do anywhere, anytime!

The thing a really like about body weight exercises is that they are natural and your body moves in it’s own way, as opposed to using machines where your body is forced to move in line with the machine which quite often is not a natural movement.

Here’s some of my favourite body weight exercises that you can use to start building muscle if you have no equipment, and even if you do have equipment or access to a gym these moves will still be a great thing to add to your workouts.

  • Push Ups

I love push ups, there are so many different variations you can do so they can never be boring. In terms of building the pecs I would prefer to do push ups than a bench press every time! Personally I think the bench press is one of the most over rated muscle building exercises around.

Here are a few of the different push up variations you should try:

  1. Pike Press
  2. Clap
  3. Side-to-side
  4. Decline
  5. Diamond
  6. Military
  7. Dive-bomber
  • Dips

All you need for dips is a chair and your good to go. Try and go as low as you can for a better range of motion and when you start to find the standard dip a little too easy you can make it more difficult by lifting one leg off the ground and then switching legs every 5 reps, or alternatively you could rest your feet on another chair while performing the dips. There is always some kind of way to make these body weight exercises more difficult and that is what you need when you are trying to build muscle mass.

  • Squats

You don’t necessarily need to use barbells in order to perform some muscle building squat exercises. Just like the other body weight exercises I have mentioned there are a ton of different variations when it comes to the squat such as:

  1. Pistol Squat
  2. Single Leg Dead-lift (This is not technically a dead-lift, just a variation on a single leg squat)
  3. Wall Squat
  4. Single Leg Wall Squats

So try some of these great body weight exercises today and start building some more muscle mass. But as with any exercises you do it is extremely important to maintain a good form, not only will you get much better results this way but you will also help to prevent any injuries.

Choosing The Right Gym

Once you have decided that you want to start working out and building muscle you will need to decide on where your going to do this. Some people aren’t too keen on going to a proper gym for a variety of reasons so working out at home would be the next best thing, these days you can get some really good home gym equipment that doesn’t break the bank. Just be sure to shop around so that you can make certain that you get all the equipment your going to need for your muscle building but at the same time not getting ripped off.

If however, the home gym scenario isn’t for you then you are going to have to look into joining a gym in your area, but there are a few things you need to research before joining. If you end up  joining a gym that you don’t feel comfortable going to on a regular basis then the chances are that you will eventually give up on your fitness goals and that’s not good at all.

So before you sign up at a gym take these factors into consideration:

  • Location

It’s no good joining a gym that takes longer to get to than you spend training, especially if your going after work you really don’t want to have to waste your precious time sitting in traffic. The best thing to do is try and find somewhere either near your home or on your drive to/from your place of work.

  • Opening Hours

What time of day are you going to be heading to the gym? if your an early riser who likes to get their workout done first thing in the morning then you need to make sure your gym will be open. Similarly, if you prefer to have your workouts later on in the day you must make sure your gym will be suitable for this.

  • The Cost Of Membership

The cost of gym memberships can vary quite drastically so it really does pay to shop around and find the best price you can in your area. Also, before you sign up to anything make sure that you find out how long exactly the contract is for, you don’t want to be tied into a long term arrangement when something short term would be much more suitable.

  • Equipment Available

Some people prefer using mainly free weights, others prefer to use machines, whichever type of equipment you prefer to use make sure that there is enough equipment available for your needs. Also be sure to check the quality of the gym equipment, if your going to be forking out on the membership each month you need to know that the equipment your going to be using is of good quality and also that there is enough equipment and machines to go around, the last thing you want is to be waiting around for ages as there is too many people and not enough equipment.

So, if you are looking at joining a gym please make sure that you take these factors into account before signing up because finding a good gym that suites your needs is very important if you are serious about getting fit and building muscle.
